Livestock auctions feature Angus and genetic cattle in Uruguay and Bolivia
Several livestock auctions are taking place, focusing on high-quality genetics and fertility. In Salto, Uruguay, Cabaña Salto, Sendemill, Limitour, and La Plazoleta are holding an annual auction at the Asociación Agropecuaria de Salto. The sale includes 35 Angus bulls (PI and SA), 40 cows, and 10 heifers. The animals have undergone fertility testing, semen analysis, and breeding trials to ensure they are ready for commercial herds.
In Bolivia, Hacienda Nelorí concluded its commercial year with its first ‘Super Genética’ auction. The event featured selected bulls, as well as calving and pregnant matrices. The livestock were selected based on maternal ability, rusticity, and breed characteristics, with genetic evaluations provided by programs such as Embrapa, Geneplus, and PMGZ to support producer productivity.
