Livestock auctions see strong results for Limousin and Angus bulls

Recent livestock auctions in Australia saw strong results for both Limousin and Angus breeds. At the Benjarra Limousin sale near Clifton, red bulls were highly favored by buyers. The top-priced bull, Benjarra V34, a purebred homozygous polled red Limousin, sold for $16,000 to David York of Wallumbilla. The sale included 32 bulls, with 23 sold at a 71.9% clearance rate and an average price of $9,521.74.

In a separate event, Te Mania Angus celebrated its 20th anniversary of selling Victorian-bred bulls at Walgett with a 100% clearance rate. The auction featured 87 bulls with an average price of $13,793 and a top price of $26,000. The highest-selling bull, Te Mania Vanzeller V652, was purchased by Mackas Beef of Salt Ash. The bull was noted for its elite intramuscular fat estimated breeding values, placing it in the top 1% of the breed.
