Livestock stud sales achieve record results for sheep and cattle

Agricultural stud sales in Australia have seen record-breaking results for both sheep and cattle.

Uralba stud achieved a new on-property record at its 2026 ram sale in Cleve. The sale cleared all 70 White Suffolk rams offered, with a top price of $3,200 achieved three times. The average price of $2,414 was more than double the previous year's average of $1,065. Stud principal Paul Dolling noted that strong competition for well-structured, high-growth rams drove the results.

In the cattle sector, Bendoc Park Poll Herefords set a new record during its annual bull sale at the Delegate showground. The top-priced bull, Bendoc Park Wilbur W7, sold for $28,000 to Tarcombe Herefords and Charolais. The sale of 19 out of 23 offered Poll Hereford bulls resulted in an average price of $8,500, attracting buyers from five different states.
