Livestock support initiatives launched in Bursa and Samsun

In the Keles district of Bursa, a Locked Feeder Project has been implemented to support small ruminant livestock producers. This collaborative effort between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Keles Municipality, and the Animal Breeders Association provided 80 producers with locked feeder systems, each with a capacity of 18 animals, along with 240 bags of feed. The project aims to improve feeding efficiency, reduce feed waste, and enhance animal welfare.

In the Ladik district of Samsun, plans are underway to expand the Live Animal Market Project to transform the area into a regional trade hub. An initial 10-decare section has already been developed into a closed market. The expansion aims to secure an additional 8.5 decares of land to construct administrative buildings, sanitation facilities, and specialized barns for both small and large ruminants. The goal is to transition the facility from a seasonal market used primarily during Eid al-Adha into a year-round commercial center to boost the local economy.
