Livestock symposium in Mato Grosso do Sul focuses on cattle profitability

The III Symposium of Profitable Pasture Livestock begins on August 13 in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. The event brings together producers, technicians, and researchers to discuss management strategies aimed at increasing the productivity and profitability of cattle ranching.

The program is divided into two stages. The first day features a lecture cycle at the Famasul auditorium covering pasture management, confinement, and forage conservation. Key topics include animal feeding during the dry season and the production of bulk materials for herd supplementation to reduce emergency feed purchases.

The second day consists of a field day at Fazenda Santa Clara in Terenos. This practical session demonstrates techniques for producing hay and pre-dried forage, as well as food conservation and production system organization. The symposium is coordinated by Professor Guilhermo Francklin de Souza Congio from the University of São Paulo (Esalq/USP).
