Living Heritage Festival showcases traditional Turkish arts

The Living Heritage Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, showcased traditional Turkish arts through various cultural events in Kütahya and Bilecik.

In Kütahya, the festival featured a unique intersection of technology and tradition as TOGG electric vehicles were decorated with traditional tile (çini) motifs. The decorated vehicles participated in a parade through the city center before being exhibited at Zafer Square, drawing significant public interest and highlighting the application of ancient craftsmanship to modern design.

In Bilecik, the festival hosted artisans practicing endangered crafts. Among the participants, ebru (paper marbling) artist Büşra Sayi Çelik drew attention at the Şeyh Edebali Culture and Congress Center. Çelik demonstrated the complex process of floating natural pigments on liquid surfaces to create intricate patterns, emphasizing the labor-intensive preparation required for this traditional art form.
