Livingstone College welcomes record freshman class
Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina, has welcomed its largest freshman class in the institution's 147-year history. The incoming class consists of approximately 575 first-year students, representing a 70% increase in freshman enrollment over the last four years.
In addition to the record size, the new class holds an average grade point average of 3.35, the highest recorded in the college's history. President Dr. Anthony J. Davis attributed this growth to investments in academic support, student engagement, wellness resources, and retention initiatives.
To support student well-being, the college received a donation of health and wellness kits from the South Atlantic Regional Director of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. These kits, containing hygiene essentials and healthy snacks, were accepted by Vice President for Student Affairs Rashanda Lowery to assist students as they begin the academic year.
