Liviu Marșavina elected president of European Structural Integrity Society
Liviu Marșavina, a corresponding member of the Romanian Academy and prorector at the Politehnica University of Timișoara, has been elected president of the European Structural Integrity Society (ESIS).
The election took place during the 25th European Fracture Mechanics Conference held in Athens. Marșavina previously served as the society's vice president for eight years and has been a representative for Romania at ESIS conferences since 2006.
ESIS is a non-profit international scientific organization founded 50 years ago. It focuses on the development and dissemination of knowledge regarding structural integrity, bringing together researchers, academics, and industry specialists through 21 technical committees and 29 national groups across Europe.
