Livno doctors quit over stalled health policy talks

On the same day, 23 doctors from the Cantonal Hospital "Dr. fra Mihovil Sučić" in Livno completed their notice period and left their positions, while another nine physicians from the Livno Health Center will remain until 19 July. The resignations were announced in a joint statement that blamed the lack of willingness from health‑policy officials to negotiate a new collective agreement.

The doctors rejected a provisional 10 % salary increase offered by the Cantonal government, calling it insufficient and noting that they had not been formally invited to discussions. They warned that if conditions do not improve, they will continue to work responsibly elsewhere, emphasizing that the canton has the lowest doctor‑to‑population ratio in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
