Livorno begins three‑day emergency repair of main sewer line on Via Montebello

From 8 July 2026, Livorno will carry out an urgent three‑day operation to restore a black sewer pipe between Piazza Matteotti and Via Pisacane along Via Montebello. Work will run 08:00‑16:00 each day, with additional night shifts from 20:00‑07:00 to limit traffic disruption. Temporary traffic signals and a no‑parking zone will be imposed, and three small access pits (≈2.5 × 2.5 m) will be opened for the repairs. The collapsed pipe sections will be removed with motorised cutters, and the entire stretch will be resin‑lined to avoid extensive excavation. The project is scheduled to finish by 16:00 on 10 July 2026, restoring full sewer functionality and preventing further failures.
