Livorno councilor flags structural issues at La Rosa overpass

Alessandro Perini, a city councilor for Fratelli d’Italia, has submitted an inquiry to the Mayor of Livorno regarding the deteriorating condition of the La Rosa overpass. Perini provided documentation including images that allegedly show widespread cracking, deteriorated concrete, and exposed rebar.

The councilor reported signs of corrosion and the detachment of concrete covers, suggesting that rust may have caused parts of the structure to break away. Given that the overpass carries thousands of vehicles daily, Perini is calling for urgent technical inspections and a complete diagnostic analysis using specialized tools, arguing that visual observation alone is insufficient to ensure safety.

Perini has requested information on when the last municipal inspections were conducted and is seeking clarity on the results of any previous checks. He is urging the administration to implement timely maintenance and preventive measures to prevent further degradation of the infrastructure.
