Livorno honors professionals at 35th Oscar Livornesi awards

The 35th edition of the Oscar Livornesi awards has been held in Livorno, recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to various sectors including medicine, maritime industry, and culture.

In the medical field, three professionals from the Livorno hospital were honored: Roberto Arpesani, Director of Interventional Radiology; Alberto Genovesi Ebert, head of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit; and Venanzio Porziella, Director of Thoracic Surgery. Hospital Director Spartaco Mencaroni noted that these recognitions highlight the hospital's technological and organizational advancements, such as the development of robotic surgery.

Barbara Bonciani received an award for her work through the “Il porto delle donne” project and her book regarding the gender gap in the Italian maritime and port sectors. Bonciani emphasized the importance of female participation in these industries to improve national competitiveness and innovation.
