Livorno inaugurates “La Trottola” Family Center in Shangai district

The “La Trottola” Family Center has been inaugurated in the Shangai district of Livorno. Located on via Fratelli Bandiera, the facility is designed to support families, promote well-being, and strengthen community ties through information services and expert support.

The center covers 400 square meters of indoor space and includes a 1,400 square meter garden. It will be open five days a week, with specific counseling services available on select mornings and afternoons. The project was funded through ministerial and regional grants, with PNRR resources utilized for the redevelopment of the interior spaces and the park.

Management of the services will be a collaborative effort between the Municipality of Livorno and various third-sector organizations, including Arci, SVS, and Cooperativa San Benedetto. Mayor Luca Salvetti noted that the center is part of an ongoing urban redevelopment effort in the Shangai neighborhood that has been underway since 2019.
