Livorno prison police face housing emergency
The Si. N. A. P. Pe. union met with the Mayor of Livorno, Luca Salvetti, to address a critical housing shortage for prison police personnel. The meeting was requested to resolve issues regarding available beds and accommodations for staff arriving at the Livorno Prison.
The situation is expected to worsen due to the upcoming opening of Pavilion D by the end of the year, which will increase the inmate population and require more staff. Currently, the building designated for staff housing is closed due to being unfit for use, and the agent barracks remain incomplete, with only the third floor renovated.
