Livorno to host Brescia-Napoli vintage motorcycle rally
The 11th edition of the Brescia-Napoli vintage motorcycle rally will include a stop in Livorno on September 25. The event, which runs from September 24 to 27, covers approximately 1,000 km across Italy and features 16 teams consisting of 64 motorcyclists and three vintage cars.
In a departure from previous years, the rally's final destination has been changed from Naples to Olbia, Sardinia. Participants will arrive at Piazza della Repubblica in Livorno for a pit stop before embarking toward Golfo Aranci. Organizer Mario Gaburri noted that the event focuses on safe riding rather than speed, using a system of bonuses and penalties based on skill tests and photographic achievements to determine winners.
This edition serves as a charity partner for the Fondazione CBD Nuovi Orizzonti ETS, supporting housing projects for individuals with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. Local Councilor Rocco Garufo highlighted the event as an opportunity to promote slow tourism and showcase the city's local culture and gastronomy.
