Liwa International Festival 2027 announced for Abu Dhabi

The Liwa International Festival 2027 is scheduled to take place in the Liwa Desert within Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra Region from December 11, 2026, to January 2, 2027. Held near Tal Moreeb, the UAE’s highest sand dune, the event combines motorsports, Emirati heritage, and family entertainment.

A central feature of the festival is the redesigned Liwa Village, which will include a refreshed lineup of attractions, with more than half of the rides being new or overhauled. Notable additions include the Circus Swing, Tagada, and Space Tower. The festival will also feature a premiere of Nitro Circus, showcasing freestyle motocross and BMX performances.

Organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi in collaboration with several local entities, including the Liwa Sports Club and Abu Dhabi Police, the festival operates under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. A new official festival app will be introduced to manage event schedules, communications, and camping information.
