Lixouri, Kefalonia finishes extensive road resurfacing and new sidewalks

The Municipality of Lixouri announced the completion of a comprehensive road‑works programme that upgrades the town’s urban network. Asphalt paving and new pedestrian pathways have been finished in the Amoussa area behind the 2nd Primary School, between Marathon and 21 May streets, as well as around the Closed Gymnasium.

A key section linking Agios Spyridon with the Mandzivanian Hospital has also been resurfaced, improving daily travel for residents, patients and emergency services. The works replace long‑standing dusty, unpaved roads, enhancing safety for motorists, cyclists and schoolchildren as the new school year begins.

The municipality said further improvements, including street‑lighting installation and tree planting in the gymnasium parking area, will follow, further modernising the town’s appearance and functionality.
