Liz Cho Ordered to Provide Six Years of Private Texts in Divorce

A New York judge has ordered ABC News anchor Liz Cho to turn over six years of her private cellphone communications to her estranged husband, former CBS anchor Josh Elliott, as part of their ongoing divorce proceedings. The order also requires Cho to supply any messages with journalists about the case, details of a $500,000 transfer from the couple’s joint account to her teenage daughter, and related receipts.

Both parties have agreed to exchange communications involving alleged romantic partners, though the court noted there is no evidence of infidelity. Judge Steven Dembo denied Elliott’s request for broader documents such as powers‑of‑attorney records and pushed the divorce trial back to October. The couple’s dispute, which began with Elliott’s filing for divorce in June 2025, has included battles over household items, pet care, and other personal matters.
