Liz Meriwether denies New Girl reunion rumors
Liz Meriwether, the creator of the Fox sitcom ‘New Girl’, has denied reports of a series reunion, stating that ‘there are no scripts’ for such a project. Her comments directly contradict recent claims made by actor Max Greenfield, who previously suggested that he had read ‘amazing’ scripts for a potential reunion.
Greenfield, who played Schmidt on the show, had sparked fan hope during an appearance on ‘The Today Show’. Meriwether addressed the discrepancy during a screening of her new series, ‘Furious’, at the Directors Guild of America building in West Hollywood. She noted that she does not currently have scripts written for the projects she is working on.
While a television reunion appears unlikely, the cast—including Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, and Lamorne Morris—is scheduled to reunite on October 10 at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles to receive the Rising Phoenix Award.
