Lizeth Castillo Becomes Digital Nomad, Travels to Over 80 Countries

Mexican journalist Lizeth Castillo began traveling alone at age 19, first visiting France, Italy and Spain on a student exchange. After a year of medical studies she switched to journalism, specializing in social‑media, and worked for the newspaper El Universal in Mexico City.

She left traditional reporting, earned two master’s degrees in Barcelona, and transformed her career into a digital‑nomad lifestyle. Castillo now takes consulting, academic research and freelance journalism jobs while running a travel blog and a YouTube channel. To date she has visited more than 80 countries, most of them solo, describing the experience as physically and mentally empowering.
