Ljubičevo Horse Racing Games open in Požarevac

The 63rd Ljubičevo Horse Racing Games have officially opened in Požarevac, Serbia. The event was inaugurated by Dejan Savić, an advisor to the President of Serbia, who emphasized the importance of the games in preserving historical memory, customs, and the heritage of the Ljubičevo stud farm, which was established by Prince Miloš in 1853.

Požarevac Mayor Saša Pavlović noted that the manifestation has evolved beyond a sporting event to become a symbol of the city and the nation. The opening ceremony included a ceremonial parade and the symbolic handover of a knightly saber to the mayor by last year's winner, Andrija Sterđević.

The festivities concluded with a major concert by singer Dragana Mirković. Tens of thousands of people gathered in her hometown to celebrate, marking a significant cultural moment for the region.
