Ljubka Šorli honored in Gorica with new poetry collection

Slovenian poet Ljubka Šorli was honored at the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Center in Gorica on September 9, 2026, with the presentation of her new collection of children's poems, ‘Sonček ves zlat’. Published by Goriška Mohorjeva družba, the collection features watercolor illustrations by Kristina Pahor and covers themes such as nature, animals, toys, school, and holidays.

During the event, Vera Tuta Ban, the collection's editor and niece of Šorli, shared memories of the poet, describing her as a warm and optimistic individual who channeled life's hardships into poetry. The evening also included musical performances by violinist Vera Prinčič and pianist Eva Dolinšek.
