Ljubljana Archbishop concludes 30 masses for Slovenian martyrs

The Vseposvojitev initiative concluded a cycle of 30 commemorative masses at the Franciscan Church in Ljubljana, dedicated to Slovenian martyrs who were victims of communist violence and are currently in the beatification process.

During the final mass, Archbishop Stanislav Zore emphasized the distinction between those who 'offered' their lives and those whose lives were forcibly taken. He noted that describing them as martyrs implies their lives were stolen through murder rather than being a voluntary sacrifice. The service also included prayers for both the victims and their perpetrators, focusing on themes of truth, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
