Ljubljana mayoral race: Janković leads in latest polling

Upcoming local elections in Slovenia, specifically the mayoral race in Ljubljana, are drawing significant attention as the city could see a change in leadership for the first time in 20 years. Zoran Janković, who has led the capital since 2006, faces competition from several candidates.

Polling data conducted by Ninamedia for Mladina indicates that Janković would lead the first round with 27.4% of the vote. Luka Mesec follows in second place with 19.2%, potentially securing a spot in a second-round runoff. Other candidates include Anton Rop at 13.4%, Aleš Primc at 7.9%, Aleksandar Repić at 3.1%, Jasmin Feratović at 2.7%, and Aleš Hojs at 1.7%.

Recent discussions have also centered on political attacks against Luka Mesec, including a controversial video involving the use of blue lights, which Mesec clarified occurred during a family wedding celebration.
