Ljubljana protests demand resignation of MP Boris Mijič

Approximately 2,500 protesters gathered in front of the National Assembly in Ljubljana to demand the resignation of MP Boris Mijič, the entire government, and the calling of early elections. Organized by the civil initiative Glas ljudstva, the demonstration targeted the current coalition, citing concerns over healthcare, labor rights, and the privatization of public services.

During the protest, activists symbolically “detained” Mijič using a cardboard police car after he declined an invitation to face the crowd. Speakers, including Jaša Jenull and representatives from the Levica party, criticized the government's policies and social state protections. The SDS party and Katja Kokot of Resnica responded by stating that protesters should move on and accept election results.

Separately, political tension has risen regarding a legislative amendment to rename holidays for the Prekmurje and Primorska regions. The Zveza združenj borcev (ZZB) for NOB values and several opposition MPs expressed deep indignation, claiming the coalition bypassed legal warnings and public debate to insert identity-based content into a different law.
