Ljubljana to host European Table Tennis Championships

Ljubljana is set to host the European Table Tennis Championships, an event the Slovenian Table Tennis Association describes as an opportunity to showcase the country’s ability to organize major sporting events. The championship will feature top competitors, including Darko Jorgić, who is currently ranked among the elite alongside the Lebru brothers. The Slovenian women's team will also be represented by Sara Tokić, Ana Tofant, and others.

In recent competitive action, Darko Jorgić was eliminated from the WTT Star Contender in Astana, Kazakhstan. After an initial victory against Jingbin Xu, Jorgić lost in the round of 16 to 19-year-old Chinese player Tianyang Li with a score of 3-0. Jorgić noted that his playing style is not optimized for defending against highly defensive opponents.
