Ljubomir Mudreša releases novel ‘Tron’ exploring Montenegrin identity

Writer and journalist Ljubomir Mudreša has released his seventh novel, ‘Tron’, a work that explores Montenegrin identity and statehood through a blend of historical facts, personal memory, and poetry.

Mudreša describes the book as a response to contemporary socio-political processes and what he characterizes as increasing attempts at assimilation against Montenegro. Through his research of regions such as Duklja, Prečista Krajina, Svač, and the Skadar Basin, the author highlights historical dynasties—the Vojislavljević, Balšić, and Crnojević families—that he argues are often omitted from standard textbooks.

The novel also touches upon the historical significance of Cetinje, specifically the Gumno square, and references the political movements toward Montenegrin independence, including the role of the Liberal Alliance and Slavko Perović in the early 1990s.
