LKL announces 2026-2027 basketball season schedule

The Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) has announced the schedule for the 2026-2027 championship season. The season is set to begin on September 17, with the defending champions, Žalgiris Kaunas, facing Gargždai in an away game. This early start is due to Žalgiris's EuroLeague commitments.

Other opening matchups include Panevėžys Lietkabelis against Utenos Juventus on September 19, followed by a debut match for league newcomer Tauragė against Jonava Hipocredit. Klaipėdos Neptūnas will host Žalgiris on September 20, and the first round will conclude with a game between Gargždai and Šiauliai.

Due to participation in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in China, BC Ryto will not play their first domestic game until April 3 against Gargždai. The first major matchup between the Kaunas and Vilnius clubs is scheduled for November 2 at the Žalgiris Arena.

The league features 10 teams competing in a four-round regular season, with each team playing 36 matches. The regular season concludes on May 16, followed by playoffs starting May 19. Most games will be broadcast on BTV, with live coverage also available via Telia Play.
