LKQ Corporation announces CEO departure and third-quarter loss

LKQ Corporation has announced immediate leadership changes and a significant downturn in its preliminary third-quarter 2026 financial results. Chief Executive Justin Jude is departing the company effective October 23, 2026, and Andy Hamilton, President and Managing Director of LKQ Europe, is also leaving his role. Salvatore A. Abbate has been named President and CEO, effective December 15, 2026. Until then, an interim Office of the CEO will be led by Board Chairman John Mendel and Audit Committee Chair Sue Gove.

The company expects a third-quarter net loss between $16 million and $32 million, a sharp decline from the $178 million net income reported in the same period last year. LKQ has also withdrawn its full-year 2026 financial guidance. The downturn is largely attributed to weakness in Europe, where organic revenue for parts and services is expected to fall 9.8%. Specific operational challenges include disruptions from an ERP implementation in Germany and reduced unit movement in the United Kingdom and Benelux.

In response to these challenges, the board has retained consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal to advise on European operations.
