LL BERK Yazılım releases BERK programming language and Berk Studio

LL BERK Yazılım Teknolojileri, a company based in Muğla, has released BERK, a new system programming language, alongside its development environment, Berk Studio. Designed for high-stakes sectors such as automotive, medical devices, aviation, and industrial automation, the language focuses on behavioral contracts to catch errors during the compilation stage rather than through runtime testing.

Unlike traditional testing, which only proves specific scenarios, BERK allows developers to define how a function must behave—such as promising not to allocate memory or crash—and the compiler verifies these promises before the program runs. The company positions BERK as a tool for formal verification, similar to Ada/SPARK, but with a focus on behavioral contracts.

Berk Studio serves as an integrated environment combining code editing with electronic circuit design (PCB), mechanical CAD, AI model design, and web API design. A notable feature is its multilingual capability; the language supports over 360 Turkish-English mappings, allowing code to be read and written in both languages. This is intended to lower the barrier for technicians and engineers who may face language obstacles. The basic version is free and compatible with Windows 10 and 11.
