Llanera City Council to organize Llanerense del Año award

The Llanera City Council will take over the organization of the ‘Llanerense del Año’ award for the first time. After sixteen years of being managed by the Gorfolí Santufirme Association, the municipal government will assume responsibility for the honor, which is entering its 17th edition.

Mayor Eva María Pérez presented the 2026 call for nominations, stating it is an honor to lead the award while aiming to preserve its original essence. The new administration intends to maintain the existing model and rules, as the previous structure was deemed successful.

The award recognizes individuals or entities born in, residing in, or linked to Llanera who have distinguished themselves in fields such as science, culture, business, or civil society. The nomination period is open from September 15 to October 15. A jury composed of municipal representatives and local business and association members will select the winner through successive rounds of secret voting.
