Llanes port pier investment increased to 6.5 million euros

The Principality of Asturias is increasing the investment for the new waiting pier at the port of Llanes to 6,589,676 euros. This represents an increase of approximately 1.5 million euros from the original 4.8 million euro budget.

The budget revision follows a failed first tender process and is driven by rising costs for construction materials. Specifically, the prices for submerged mass concrete and rock dredging have seen significant increases since the project was drafted.

The new infrastructure is designed to accommodate approximately ten vessels, serving both professional fishing fleets and recreational boats. The project includes a breakwater to improve protection against waves, a 2,260-square-meter urbanized port esplanade, and pedestrian connections to the port promenade. Authorities intend to launch a new procurement process immediately to maintain the projected completion date.
