Lleida IEI hosts 130-meter senyera installation for Diada
To celebrate the Diada Nacional de Catalunya, a 130-meter senyera has been installed on the facades of the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs (IEI) in Lleida. The installation, which will remain visible until September 27, features 16 phrases focused on Catalan language, culture, and identity.
In addition to slogans such as ‘Un sol poble’ and ‘No hi ha futur sense memòria’, the display includes quotes from prominent Catalan authors, including Montserrat Roig, Salvador Espriu, and Raimon. The installation was inaugurated by the President of the Diputació de Lleida, Joan Talarn, alongside IEI Vice President Estefania Rufach and Director Andreu Vázquez.
The event marks the beginning of the ‘Sobirania i autodeterminació’ cycle organized by the IEI. This program includes a series of four conferences, a concert, and a contemporary dance performance, aiming to reflect on sovereignty and the right to self-determination amidst modern political and social transformations.
