Lleida infrastructure: N-240 road works and Bellissens station updates

Infrastructure improvements are underway in the Lleida region. The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has begun renovating a 2.5-kilometer stretch of the N-240 highway near the Frares industrial estate. The project, budgeted at 800,000 euros, involves milling deteriorated pavement and applying 4,700 tons of bituminous mixture over approximately 40,000 square meters. The works aim to improve a section that handles roughly 10,000 vehicles daily and are expected to conclude by October 23, weather permitting.

In a separate development, the Bellissens train station is nearing completion with an expected investment of 10 million euros from Adif. The station is projected to serve approximately 1,400 daily passengers. While local university students at the URV Bellissens Campus express varying levels of interest based on their commuting needs, neighborhood associations have welcomed the project as a long-awaited benefit for the area.
