Lleida police arrest driver after high-speed chase and collision

A 44-year-old man was arrested in Lleida after a high-speed police chase through city streets. The incident began when the driver ignored a traffic control checkpoint on the N-240 highway and fled toward the city at high speed.

During the pursuit, the driver drove recklessly, including traveling in the wrong direction on several streets, endangering pedestrians and other motorists. The chase resulted in a collision with a motorcycle on Rambla Ferran, causing injuries to the motorcyclist. The Mossos d'Esquadra eventually intercepted the vehicle on Fontanet Avenue in the Bordeta neighborhood. The suspect has been detained on charges of reckless driving.
