Lleida police arrest man for 15 vehicle burglaries
A 44-year-old man has been arrested by the Mossos d'Esquadra for allegedly committing 15 thefts from vehicles parked in various community garages in Lleida.
The investigation began in early July following reports of 12 robberies at a garage located between Passeig Onze de Setembre and Carrer de Mart. While security footage provided initial clues, the suspect was not immediately identified. The case progressed when off-duty officers spotted a man matching the suspect's profile. Although he was found with a glass-breaking tool and a remote control for the parking facility, he was initially released as no stolen items were found on his person.
Following that encounter, thefts ceased at the first location, but three new robberies occurred at a different parking lot on Carrer Pius XII. Security cameras at the new site confirmed the same individual was responsible. After gathering sufficient evidence, police arrested the suspect on August 3, linking him to all 15 investigated thefts.
