Spain infrastructure projects cause regional traffic disruptions

Various infrastructure and road maintenance projects are currently underway across several regions in Spain, leading to localized traffic changes and urban improvements.

In Montcada i Reixac, investigations continue following a significant sinkhole that occurred a month ago during railway burial works. Adif is conducting deep subsoil surveys to determine when work can resume, as the complex terrain near the Besòs River presents geological challenges. Meanwhile, in Lleida, pavement renewal on Príncep de Viana street is nearing completion, and work is simultaneously progressing on Bonaire street.

In other areas, the Baix Camp avenue project is proceeding according to schedule, aiming to transform the former N-340 into a pedestrian-friendly boulevard. In Castellar de la Frontera, a nearly 480,000 euro sanitation renewal project on Avenida de las Adelfas is set to begin, which will impact local traffic and public transport. In Valencia, the first phase of improvements on the V-21 service road between Alboraia and Meliana has been completed, with further works scheduled for late August.

Travelers should also note seasonal and maintenance-related disruptions. Salamanca is experiencing road closures and lane narrowings due to weekend maintenance, and heavy traffic congestion has been reported on the AP-4 and A-49 highways for commuters traveling from Seville to the beaches of Huelva and Cádiz.
