Llobregat-Anoia rail line service expected to normalize mid-next week
Authorities from ADIF and Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) expect to restore normal service on the Llobregat-Anoia line by the middle of next week. The disruption follows a detachment incident near the Gornal station this past Tuesday.
Currently, trains are forced to operate on a single track in the affected section between Europa-Fira and Hospitalet-Avinguda Carrilet. Repair work is complex and restricted to nighttime maintenance windows to avoid interfering with daily service, which has extended the recovery timeline.
FGC Director Oriol Juncadella apologized to passengers for the increased crowding on trains. Because the tunnel is owned by FGC while ADIF facilities pass above the affected area, the repairs require close coordination between both entities. The cause of the detachment has not yet been determined, though officials have ruled out a connection to a previous collapse in October 2007.
