Lloret de Mar shop faces 22,001 euro fine for counterfeit goods
The Lloret de Mar City Council has initiated sanctioning proceedings against a shop on Vila de Blanes Avenue for multiple alleged violations of the Consumer Code of Catalonia. The total fine could reach 22,001 euros, consisting of four minor infractions of 3,000 euros each and one serious infraction of 10,001 euros.
The investigation began following a Local Police inspection triggered by reports of counterfeit goods. During the operation, officers seized 514 items that showed signs of being non-original, including accessories and pieces bearing symbols of well-known brands without original labels or security elements.
In addition to the counterfeit products, authorities identified several administrative irregularities: the shop failed to provide purchase invoices or documentation proving the origin of the goods, did not issue receipts to customers, and lacked official complaint forms and required signage. The serious infraction is attributed to the establishment's failure to provide the information requested by officers during the inspection.
