Lluís Llach to headline Mare Llengua Festival in Alghero

The second edition of the Mare Llengua Festival is scheduled to take place from October 8 to 11 in Alghero. The event focuses on singer-songwriter music performed in minority languages, celebrating the cultural and linguistic connections between different musical traditions.

Lluís Llach will serve as the guest of honor on October 10. The evening will feature a tribute to his career, with various artists performing reinterpretations of his classics to bridge the gap between the Nova Cançó tradition and contemporary music. The festival will also honor Italian singer and composer Rachele Colombo for her work in Venetian folk music.

Under the artistic direction of Claudia Crabuzza, the festival has expanded to include morning and afternoon concerts, public meetings, and documentaries. The programming extends beyond theaters into the streets of Alghero, featuring jam sessions and acoustic performances. Other scheduled performers include Agathe Catel and Sandra Bautista.
