Lluís Puig supports Carles Puigdemont's decision regarding Parliament role

Former Catalan Minister of Culture Lluís Puig has expressed respect for Carles Puigdemont's decision not to take his seat in the Parliament or serve as the leader of the opposition. Puig noted that the administrative demands of parliamentary commissions and plenary sessions might limit the work an ex-president can perform in other capacities.

Puig also commented on the absence of Generalitat President Salvador Illa during Puigdemont's return to the Parliament after nine years of exile following the October 1 referendum. Puig described the lack of attendance by Illa as a “humanly” disappointing void.

Reflecting on his own return, Puig described a sense of satisfaction while attempting to manage the intense emotions of the moment. He reiterated his stance that Catalonia continues to require independence.
