Lâm Đồng buffalo attack injures six people

On October 24, two buffaloes escaped while being unloaded from a truck in Tân Lập village, Đinh Văn Lâm Hà commune, Lâm Đồng province, causing widespread chaos and injuries.

The owner, a 44-year-old local man, was severely injured during the initial encounter, suffering a broken pelvis, broken legs, and multiple wounds. He was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for emergency treatment. Following the attack on the owner, the animals ran approximately 1 km along the road, attacking pedestrians and motorcyclists.

The rampage resulted in at least six people being injured and hospitalized. The animals also struck a parked car and motorcycle, and crashed into a roadside wedding banquet, destroying tables and dishes. While guests managed to escape without injury, the property damage was significant.

Local authorities and military forces secured the scene after the animals were cornered in a material storage yard. To ensure public safety, officials used an excavator to subdue and kill the aggressive buffalo. Authorities are currently investigating the incident to assess damages and determine legal resolutions.
