Lâm Đồng police arrest fugitive after 10 years on the run

Police in Lâm Đồng province, Vietnam, have apprehended Nguyễn Thị Hồng, a fugitive who had been evading authorities since 2016. The arrest was carried out on October 22 at approximately 21:00 by the Cam Ly Ward Police in coordination with the Lâm Đồng Provincial Criminal Police Department.

Hồng, born in 1970, was wanted under a 2016 decision by the Đà Lạt City Police Investigation Agency for the crime of “consuming property obtained through another person's crime,” as stipulated by the 1999 Penal Code.

During her decade of evasion, Hồng frequently changed residences across various provinces and localities, often staying only briefly in each location. Due to a lack of personal identification documents, she faced difficulties with residency registration and worked unstable manual labor jobs, such as kitchen assistance and dishwashing.
