Lâm Đồng preserves Katê Festival cultural heritage

The Katê Festival, a significant intangible cultural heritage of the Cham people, is being preserved and promoted in Lâm Đồng province. Held annually at the Pô Sah Inư Tower since its restoration in 2005, the festival serves as a vital spiritual and cultural activity for the community.

The celebration includes various rituals, such as the procession of the goddess Pô Sah Inư, who is revered for teaching the community essential skills like wet rice cultivation and brocade weaving. Traditional offerings, including sticky rice, various cakes, and fruit, are presented to ancestors and deities to express gratitude and seek blessings for peace, health, and prosperous harvests.

Beyond its religious significance, the festival fosters community solidarity and strengthens the connection to ancestral roots, contributing to the overall richness of Vietnam's diverse ethnic cultures.
