Lâm Đồng province pushes to resolve blockages on $15 bn wind projects

The provincial People's Committee of Lâm Đồng in Vietnam has asked the central government to remove obstacles affecting six wind‑farm projects with a combined capacity of about 430 MW and an investment of nearly 15 000 billion VND. The projects overlap with the national mineral‑resource plan (Quy hoạch 866), which has prevented the completion of legal procedures and the start of operations. The province submitted a request to the Prime Minister and vice‑premiers, proposing that the overlapping 64 ha in the northern area (former Đắk Nông province) and 28 ha in the eastern area (former Bình Thuận province) be transferred to the national mineral reserve zone so the farms can be commissioned.

Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Gia Túc chaired a meeting with ministries, including Agriculture and Rural Development, Finance, Justice and Public Security, and agreed to adjust the plan while keeping separate any accountability for violations noted by a previous government audit. If cleared, the projects are expected to generate roughly 500 billion VND annually for the local budget, create jobs and support the province’s target of more than 12% industrial‑growth acceleration.
