LMS and Veyco launch digital mortgage deed signing in UK

LMS has partnered with technology provider Veyco to introduce Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES), enabling customers of participating lenders and law firms to sign mortgage deeds digitally. The service, delivered through LMS Validate, integrates identity verification with digital signing to create a more efficient property transaction process.

QES provides a high standard of security and identity assurance, with signed documents carrying the same legal weight as handwritten signatures without requiring a witness. The technology is currently live for lenders using the LMS fee-assisted remortgage service, with plans to extend the rollout to Panel Link customers in the next phase.

HM Land Registry (HMLR) has expressed support for the wider adoption of QES as part of its digital transformation, confirming it will accept these signatures starting in August 2025. Nationwide Building Society has already begun adopting the technology within its remortgage workflows.
