Lüneburg opens new multifunction field at Igelschule

The Igelschule in Lüneburg has officially opened a new multifunction field at ‘Am Weißen Turm’ to coincide with the start of the school year. The project was developed in response to requests from local children and youth who sought an alternative to a traditional football pitch, which could not be built due to its proximity to residential buildings.

The new facility includes inclusive playground equipment and features such as a fitness trampoline, a calisthenics station, a strength training station, and a table tennis table. Additionally, the redesigned schoolyard incorporates heavy rain storage solutions. The opening ceremony was attended by Lüneburg Mayor Claudia Kalisch along with representatives from the local administration, politics, and the property management company.
