Lüneburg to install artificial turf pitch at Lüneburger SV

The city of Lüneburg is moving forward with plans to install an artificial turf pitch at the Lüneburger SV sports grounds in the Kaltenmoor district. Following a unanimous council decision on August 20, 2026, the administration has been authorized to apply for 675,000 euros in funding through the federal program ‘Sanierung kommunaler Sportstätten’ (Renovation of Municipal Sports Facilities).

The city intends to contribute 300,000 euros toward the project. Once the funding is approved, the construction will be put out to tender. Preliminary work on the rainwater channels beneath the sports grounds is scheduled to begin next week.
