Lünen implements one-way traffic on Kamener Straße for utility works
Starting August 24, Kamener Straße in Lünen will become a one-way street due to extensive utility construction. The project, managed by Stadtwerke Lünen (SWL), is expected to last until the end of January 2027.
The work involves laying new electricity lines to support the 'Theo-Kleine-Weg' development area and upgrading existing water and power infrastructure. The new electrical lines are being designed to accommodate increased loads from renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaic systems.
Traffic in the Beckinghausen area near Kreuzstraße will only flow toward the city center. A large-scale detour will be implemented via Hammer Straße, Westenhellweg, and Jahnstraße in Bergkamen. SWL stated that while the construction requires detours, provisions such as temporary crossings and exits will be made to ensure residents can still access their properties.
