Lünen launches women’s self‑defence course with Dortmund police

The city of Lünen, in partnership with the Dortmund police department, is offering a self‑defence program for women. The ten‑session course begins on 31 August and runs weekly on Mondays from 18:00 to 20:00 until 2 November at the Multi Kulti education centre on Münsterstraße 54a.

Organised by Lünen’s gender‑equality officer Heike Tatsch and police criminal‑prevention officer Daniela Jankiewitz, the programme combines practical drills, role‑playing scenarios, and instruction on legal aspects of self‑defence. Participants learn to recognise risk situations, establish personal boundaries, and use body language and voice effectively. The course costs €50 and can be registered online via the Multikulturelles Forum website.
